Abstract

Jogye Order is the biggest Buddhist school in Korea at present. Native Seon masters founded this school in the late 12th century based on the unity of the nine Seon schools, which had already existed before in Goryeo. With its long history and unique Seon characteristics, the Jogye Order is developing increasingly and expanding its influence worldwide. Employing document analysis, this research aims to clarify the two unique thoughts of the Jogye Order, including Seongyugyeomsu, and Donojeomsu. The results of this study contributed to adding more scholar source on learning about Korean Buddhism and the Jogye Order in Vietnam.
