THE IMPACT OF GEN AI ON STUDENTS’ EMOTIONS, LEARNING MOTIVATION, AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AT CHAU THANH HIGH SCHOOL, AN GIANG PROVINCE

Abstract

Currently, Gen AI is increasingly being used in education. This study aims to analyze its impact on the emotions, learning motivation, and academic performance of high school students. The research was conducted through a survey of 118 students at Chau Thanh High School, An Giang province. The results show that Gen AI contributes to enhancing learning interest, supporting self-directed learning, promoting learning motivation, and improving certain aspects of academic performance. However, several negative impacts were also identified, including the risk of technological dependence, reduced learning motivation due to the overuse of AI, and changes in learning interaction behaviors. The findings of this study provide a foundation for further research, particularly in proposing appropriate and ethical guidelines for the use of Gen AI among high school students.
