Abstract

Contributions of writer Doan Gioi to the resistance-war literature in southern Vietnam. Writer Doan Gioi is widely remembered for his famous novel *Dat rung phuong Nam* (Land of the Southern Forest). However, he is also accounted for many other contributions to Vietnamese literature. During the Anti-French Resistance War 1945–1954, he wrote many works in different genres such as poetry, memoirs, short stories, verse stories, and novellas. With these achievements, Doan Gioi can be considered one of the prominent writers in Southern Vietnam during the resistance war, enriching the literature of the region.
