Abstract

Overall, Vietnamese literature from the period of Renovation (Đổi mới) to that of Integration represents a complex process of transformation closely linked to major upheavals in national and global history. From the strong “awakening” of the late 1980s to the diverse explorations of generations after 1995, literature has expanded its scope of reflecting reality, affirmed the role of the individual self, and gradually approached the spirit of globalization. However, generational continuity continues to raise concerns, particularly regarding the formation of a young creative cohort with sufficient intellectual depth and artistic resilience to generate new “bumper harvests” for literature. In the context of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and an unprecedented expansion of creative spaces, this mission is increasingly being entrusted to today’s young writers. The future of Vietnamese literature thus presents both promising opportunities and pressing demands for a creative aspiration deeply rooted in the People, the Nation, and the spirit of the times.
