Abstract
This research study conducted a survey on the current status of training third-grade students' self-development competency (SDC) through experiential learning (EL) in several primary schools in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City. The survey results show that the training of SDC for third-grade students through EL was mainly at a frequent level. Most teachers (87.1%) assessed that training SDC for third-grade students is necessary. The training content had an average score of 4.14, corresponding to a high level of importance, with "Developing students' confidence in self-assessment" being the highest-rated content at 4.19. However, there was a discrepancy in the level and effectiveness of different training methods. Specifically, the camp activity showed a difference of 1.17 points, while the role-playing method had a difference of 0.44 points. The training process still faced some difficulties, with the most common challenge for students being "Feeling overwhelmed by too much feedback from their surroundings" at 78.0%, and "Receiving too much negative feedback, leading to a lack of confidence" at 72.0%, making them feel insecure about themselves.Downloads
