Microservices architecture has emerged as a promising approach for developing scalable, flexible, and maintainable Internet of Things (IoT) applications. However, evaluating the performance of microservices-based systems remains a critical challenge due to the distributed nature of their architecture and the increasing demands of modern software applications. This study investigates the performance characteristics of microservices-based IoT applications through benchmark testing under containerized deployment environments. The proposed architecture was evaluated using Docker-based benchmarking tools to assess key performance indicators, including memory throughput, storage read and write performance, load handling capability, and operational speed. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the microservices architecture in supporting distributed IoT applications while providing insights into system performance under different workload conditions. The study highlights the advantages of adopting microservices architecture for IoT software development, particularly in improving scalability, maintainability, and deployment flexibility. It also discusses practical challenges associated with implementing microservices-based systems and identifies future research directions for enhancing the performance and reliability of distributed IoT applications.
